Insurance Claims Acquisition Specialist: Longwood, FL

Description:This position is to be filled in the Longwood Florida office. The hours of this position are 11am - 8pm.

The Intake Specialist is responsible for:
• Receiving referrals and Educating prospective claimants about the SSDI process
• Explaining the benefits of retaining The Advocator Group as their representative
• Obtaining written agreement from the prospective claimant, allowing The Advocator Group to represent them in their SSDI claim.
This position must work within their operating unit to evaluate the validity of each referral against the SSA’s disability guidelines to determine whether The Advocator Group can file the claim in good faith.

Essential Duties:

• Meet or exceed both individual and company objectives for First Time Filings, Conversions, and Retainer Forms Sent by managing a caseload of assigned referrals
• Meet or exceed expectations in Quality by providing a superior level of customer service while maintaining focus on all the technical aspects of handling the claim
• Ensure the prospective claimant’s questions are answered and needs are met as they relate to the SSDI process.
• Utilize Directional Selling tools in an effort to convert referrals to clients
• Accurately screen claims to ensure validity of claim
• Employ the use of key sales techniques such as: assuming the sale, rebuttals and closing the sale to overcome objections and obtain permission to send our representation forms
• Maximize on every call to optimize First Time Filings, Conversions and Forms Out with the least amount of follow-up calls required
• Educate prospective claimants about the SSDI process
• Meet or exceed expectations in all other duties assigned
• Answer all incoming calls from assigned queues

• Additional Duties will be assigned throughout the course of employment, including but not limited to the Intake Function

Qualifications:Business Partnering and Reporting:

• Reports directly to the Supervisor of Intake
• Partner with LTD claims examiners to ensure a smooth and effective transition of claimants
• Partner with Client Advocacy Department to ensure a smooth and effective transition of claimants


• BS or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years work experience in related field
• Experience working in a call center environment or insurance or benefit claim organization preferred
• Must have extensive experience and be skilled in the use of programs such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Sales or Collections experience preferred
Willing and able to work Monday - Friday, 11:00am - 8:00pm
